ALTHOUGH the Bolton fan was foolhardy in going onto the pitch to remonstrate with the referee, the life-time ban by the club is completely over the top.
This man has been a long time fan of our team and has no previous record that we know of to show that he is someone who should be banned for life. Additionally, there was no violence at all involved, the fan merely wanting to draw the referee's attention to his watch.
We must also remember that we do have a convicted criminal playing for our team. This does seem to be a dual standard.
The club should reconsider this harsh decision.
