FORTY people have been arrested as part of a crime crackdown by Greater Manchester Police using the latest hi-tech equipment.
During Operation Atlanta, officers used Automatic Number Plate Recognition system to catch criminals on the roads.
A total of 30,981 vehicles in the region were checked and 1,072 were checked against the police's databases.
Fifty wraps of heroin and ecstasy tablets were seized.
