RESIDENTS in Bolton have been urged to get their Christmas presents and cards sent early to avoid the misery of them not arriving on time.
The town's post offices will open on Christmas Eve from 9am to 12.30pm and New Years Eve from 9am to 4pm but branch hours will be variable over the festive perod so customers are being reminded to check their local office for times.
The last recommended posting dates for first class mail is tomorrow.
Benefits due on New Year's Day can be collected from December 27.
