IT'S an agonizing decision for most of us, but if you still haven't made your mind up and are contemplating sitting at home and watching paint dry then let us present you with a few New Year's Eve options.

Juice has come up trumps this year, approaching On A Plate for this New Year's Eve special which is sure to be a popular option for Bolton clubbers. With the residents in full force, Neil Smallridge (Miss Moneypennys, Ampersand) and the rest of the On A Plate crew will be playing funky vocal house at this intimate event which will set you back £12 and goes on until 4am.

At Atlantis you can expect the night to go off with a bang as the usual clubby tracks will be accompanied by pyrotechnics and a closing time of about 5am, guaranteeing that you'll see the New Year in with a sore head.

Once again Club IndieGo will be providing the essential alternative night for those who wouldn't mind hearing The Strokes on the stroke of midnight, with the hardworking DJ Talkie T once more providing the tunes.

For a funktastic New Year in Manchester, Funkademia will be greeting 2003 in their new venue. DJs include Fritz Great Lake in Subspace with a bit of Northern funk in the bar upstairs courtesy of Dave Booth and Myk Nolan, though this being Manchester it is a pricier option at £25. However, doors open at 8.00pm and the tunes keep going until 4am.

One of Manchester's biggest New Year's Eve enterprises is M1, which kicks off at Revolution on Deansgate Locks but which actually spreads out into a unique, multi roomed space beneath the G-Mex centre which has never been used before.

The event, presented in conjunction with Emporia, is the first in a series of special, spectacular nights in Manchester. This promises to be an event to remember with a capacity of 3,000 and DJs including Kerri Chandler, DJ Sneak, Terry Farley, Audiowhores, Jon Cutler, and Nick Hussey spinning the tunes from 8pm to 8am. And of course Sankeys doesn't let its loyal tribe down: the night will run until 6am with DJs Jaques Lu Cont, Justin Robertson, Greg Vickers and Krysko seeing in 2003 in style.
