DURHAM all-rounder Paul Collingwood hit a brilliant 100 to guide England to a competitive total in the fourth match of the triangular series against Sri Lanka today.

He produced his finest display yet for England today, just 11 days before the tourists have to submit their final 15-man squad for the World Cup to the ICC.

Collingwood claimed a career-best score to help England overcome slipping to 122 for six after captain Nasser Hussain decided to bat first on the world's quickest pitch, and guide them to 258 for nine.
