CHRISTMAS at The Lowry really does cater for just about everyone this year.

A festive double bill for all the family features a pop pantomime and a classical ballet.

Pele Productions in association with The Lowry presents Aladdin until January 5. This is a pop-panto version of the classic tale from the Arabian Nights.

Young and old have the chance to follow Aladdin's adventures in his quest for Princess Yasmin as he defeats master villain Abanazar, and with a little help from the Genie of the Lamp, finally champions over evil and naturally saves the day so that everyone who deserves to can live happily ever after.

Young new pop star, 19-year-old David Paul stars as Aladdin. The show promises stunning scenery and special effects, plus the latest top 10 hits.

If pop and raucous pantomime is not quite to your taste, then in The Lowry's other theatre, The Latvian National Ballet with The Latvian National Opera and Ballet Orchestra presents The Nutcracker.

This is the UK premiere of the production and The Lowry will have the only performances to be shown in the country.

The traditionally festive ballet runs from December 17 to 29 and features one of Europe's oldest-established ballet companies. More than 100 dancers will dance on stage with the highly acclaimed Latvian National Ballet, creating a sumptuous staging of this family treat.

Tickets are from the box office on 0161 876 2000.
