DAVID Holdsworth had mixed feelings today after claiming his place in the record books.

The former Watford, Sheffield United and Birmingham centre-back made his Wanderers' debut in last night's cup defeat and when he was joined on the field by his brother, Dean, they became the first twins ever to play for the club.

He was one of the few Bolton players to emerge with any credit as Bury took the derby honours but was bitterly disappointed to be on the losing side.

"We don't like losing any football matches," he said. "Personally I was delighted to get 90 minutes under my belt and proud to play for Bolton Wanderers.

"If people want to write about Dean and myself making history, that's up to them, but first and foremost we are here to play football and do a job."

Holdsworth was so concerned about the condition of Bury midfielder David Clegg, who was stretchered off after the pair collided 15 minutes from time that he went to the visitors' dressing room before getting changed to check on his condition.

"It was a tackle I had to make," Holdsworth said. "It was a 50-50 and in his willingness, he followed through. I hope he is all right."

Early checks suggest Clegg could be out for six to eight weeks with knee ligament damage.

GUDNI Bergsson is just four goals short of putting the scoring touch to a video of his life story.

He is missing goals from the 95-96 Premiership campaign - at Spurs, Newcastle and Leeds - and 97-98 - Everton away.
