SUBSTITUTE Andy Mason secured an important 1-0 win for Chorley over promotion rivals Witton in a physical and hotly-contested UniBond first division match at Victory Park.
Darren Emmett and Danny Mills went close in the first half, while Lee Southwood cleared off the line for Chorley.
Chorley were boosted by a double substitution after the break and sealed the points on 71 minutes when Phil Bayliss threaded a superb ball through to Mason, who thundered an unstoppable rising drive past former Manchester United starlet Paul Gibson.
