YOURI Djorkaeff aims to bring the best out of Michael Ricketts.
The World Cup winner is an admirer of the Reebok striker's talent which he is trying to nurture on and off the pitch.
He said: "I talk with Michael a lot because he is young.
"I saw his movement was very interesting against Aston Villa. He produced a very good job defensively as well as offensively in that game.
"I try to help the strikers. If I sense they want me to play to the left of them I got left or if I feel they want me to play to the right I go right."
Ricketts, who has scored twice from the spot in three Premiership games, earned a place in Bolton folklore when he scored the matchwinner in last season's 2-1 win at Old Trafford and is hungry for more.
"I'm feeling sharp at the moment and hopefully I'll be able to take that into our next game," the striker said on his personal website.
"They'll be looking to bounce back this time but hopefully we can go there and do a repeat performance. We're going to go there confident we can do it. There's no point in going looking to lose, is there?"
