FORMER Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw, from Bury, is on the verge of signing a solo record deal.
The 21-year-old blonde is poised to put pen to paper on a contract with Virgin, friends close to the star have revealed.
Suzanne is refusing to confirm or deny the deal, but Virgin is understood to be keen to have her on board. Two months ago after Hear'Say's split, Suzanne went to France with her fiancee, 28-year-old record producer Terry Adams, to take stock of her career.
Hear'Say was formed during the first series of ITV's Popstars and the group had Britain's fastest selling debut single of all time.
But the record-buying public eventually turned on the band and Suzanne, along with bandmates Noel Sullivan, Myleene Klass, Danny Foster and Johnny Shental,l decided to call it a day. Wigan's Kym Marsh had already left.
Suzanne, a former pupil of St Gabriel's RC High School, Bury, is likely to release her single next spring. according to a source at Virgin.
He said: "The bosses think she's sexy and has bags of talent. It's natural they would want her signed up."
