HOSPITAL porters, caterers and ancilliary staff have gone on strike today at Liverpool University Hospital after rejecting an offer by private employers, Sodexho, of £4.50 an hour.
Around 300 staff, members of the GMB union, are expected to take part in the walk out.
Hospital officials say that they are confident that remaining staff will cope with the the extra workload.
