CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs Jean Allison from Ramsbottom with regard to the euro.

Even many years ago, anti-Europeans spoke of "sleep walking into a European superstate".

A war was fought to keep us free from European interference and to stoically accept the euro is treason in my book.

Further European integration could involve such adverse laws from having to drive on the right side of the road, to the re-introduction of National Service. If this happens, along with the other adverse moves Mrs Allison mentions, this will be tantamount to turning this country into a dictatorship, with Brussels pulling the strings.

I have yet to meet any "man in the street" who is in favour of it. I know a handful who are, but these are businessmen who buy their products abroad.

We, the public, should decide and resist any carrots from Brussels, who just want to be "top dogs".

The euro issue is as important as the poll tax, if not more! That issue was not taken on the chin, as I remember from the demonstration locally that I took part in, and the national ones such as the London demonstration.

If Mrs Allison and the many anti-euro correspondents could get together and muster an army of anti-euro protesters on the scale of the poll tax demos, we should stand a chance to keep the pound for ever. After all, this will save us money, as did the poll tax demos.
