THREE months ago my husband was made redundant for the third time.

He is nearly 60 years old, so is obviously not finding it easy to get another job.

His dole is £53.95 a week, and out of this he has to find postage for his application letters, fare to an interview if he gets one, and haircuts to keep himself looking clean and presentable. And yet he very rarely gets a reply to his letters and has only ever been sent a letter twice to say he was not successful in the interview.

Surely firms can find the cost of a second class stamp to send a reply? It's heartbreaking to see him dash to pick up the post and then sit near the phone in case it rings.

Please let people know and then their lives can move on, instead of constantly living in hope. My husband, along with hundreds of others, deserve better.
