THE Centurions made a double transfer swoop this week as next season's squad starts to take shape.

They have landed wide-running second rower Bryan Henare from Oldham and try poaching wingman Damien Munro from Widnes.

Kiwi Henare, 28, will replace Chris Morley (Oldham) and Andy Isherwood (Widnes) in the Leigh pack next season after impressing coach Paul Terzis over the past couple of years.

Henare, a former Junior Kiwi, was a regular in the Auckland Warriors side from 1996 until 2000 when he joined St Helens. He has spent the last 18 months at Oldham, playing 44 games and scoring 14 tries.

Munro, released by the Vikings, is a 26 year old winger who has an incredible strike rate of 78 tries in 130 games for Widnes. He ended the season on loan with Featherstone.

Leigh expect to bring in more new faces over the coming weeks.

They appear to be locked in a tussle with Whitehaven for Salford full-back Gary Broadbent and also face competition from French champions UTC for Salford prop Paul Southern.

Leigh are also being linked with Sean Richardson, the ex-Dewsbury second rower who has also been released by Widnes.

John Duffy, Rob Ball and Paul Norman have all agreed new contracts to stay at Hilton Park.
