A FEW weeks ago, an album of photographs of buses over the years was handed in at the Bolton Evening News reception desk, addressed to me, but with no information of who had sent it.

There was the indication that I could use some of the pictures in this column and then find a "good home" for the album. To whoever donated the album, thank you. I have passed it on to the Bolton Bus Group (who are at the moment restoring another old ex-Bolton Corporation Transport vehicle) and Aidan Anderson of that group has captioned the pictures.

Pictured from top to bottom are:

BUS 1 - 1955 Leyland Royal Tiger with East Lancashire Coach Builders' bodywork, on its way to Affetside, pictured in 1960.

Bus 2 - 1961 AEC Regent V with Metro-cammel bodywork, pictured on Thynne Street in about 1962.

Bus 3 - Bolton Transport fleet No 172, photographed in early Selnec days carrying its new fleet number of 6672 on Mooor Lane bus station in the early 1970s. The bus is a Leyland PD3A, with East Lancashire Coachbuilders' bodywork.

Bus 4 - 1948 all Leyland PD2 photographed on Bradshawgate in 1965.

Bus 5 - 1949 all Leyland PD2, seen in Howell Croft, South Bolton around 1960.
