REGARDING the article on page 7 in the Bolton Evening News on Tuesday, November 5, 'Candid camera warning to careless parkers'.

Well, Mr Allcroft, your parking was nothing after what my wife and I witnessed on Tuesday afternoon.

We were going to Bolton to visit the museum. After parking our car under the Arndale, we headed towards Le Mans Crescent, passing the south entrance of the Town Hall. Outside the entrance there are designated parking places for motorcycles and, just past these, are double yellow lines.

As we were waiting to cross the cobbled road, standing on the pavement where these lines are, a Toyota car pulled up and parked on the yellow lines with rear wheel on kerb/pavement and front wheel still on the yellow line. After doing a better job of positioning his blue badge and picture of himself, the man got out of his car, locked his door, turned around and did a sporty "Linford Christie" run past the museum towards the market. I didn't know Bolton market had no parking facilities.

Some two hours later we came out of the museum, and, to our amazement, the car, in a totally disrespectful manner, was still parked, and there wasn't a Chief Constable, Jeremy Beadle, or a Det Insp David Bailey in view, nor any little yellow penalty envelope stuck to the car's windscreen.
