A MAN is recovering in hospital after being shot in the street -- the wound severed the main artery in his left leg.
Police received a call saying cries for help were coming from a side street in Hulme at 6pm yesterday.
While detectives were investigating, other officers were following a car heading into the grounds of Manchester Royal Infirmary.
The victim was in the car and is now being treated for his injuries.
