MORE than 60 students fled a school after vandals broke in and set fire to part of the building.
The arsonists smashed a glass panel on fire escape door at Little Hulton Community School, on Longshaw Drive, Little Hulton, before lighting four seats, two bins and pictures on a notice board.
A meeting and an adult education class was taking place in the school at 7.15pm yesterday. Staff, alerted by the smoke alarm, put out the blaze using a fire extinguisher.
The fire caused damage to the floor and ceiling tiles.
