REGARDING local scribe Brian Derbyshire and his concern for children riding pillion on push-bikes, I personally feel that children are far more at risk in cars.

The number of child passengers I see daily, on motorways, on busy roads, not strapped into seats or restraints, is quite frightening, and there are laws governing this being completely ignored by feckless parents.

After all the publicity of the dangers of children not being protected, I am astounded that parents can be so blase about their children's safety. It only takes a second to "strap them in".
