CHORLEY hope to have the signing of the former Bury and Ipswich Town goalkeeper Lee Bracey wrapped up in time for tomorrow's match at Trafford.

But Magpies manager Mark Molyneaux would not reveal whether he intends to play his new keeper or himself in goal.

Molyneaux was player-manager at Trafford before joining Chorley but says he'll be going back with few fond memories.

"I am Chorley now, I have no feelings for Trafford. They were a bit out of order to a couple of the players after I left and I thought it was wrong," he said.

'Molly' revealed that Bracey, who played more than 250 games in the League, was desperate to sign for Chorley from Ossett Town.

A fee of around £4,000 has been agreed - up from an original offer that was turned down.

"Lee has been up here, had a look round and was so desperate to sign he offered to pay some of his fee himself."

The Barking-born player was a trainee with West Ham before moving to Swansea and then Halifax in 1991.

The 34-year-old was the Shakers' first choice keeper for three years from 1993. Ipswich signed him in a £40,000 deal in 1997 and he was at Portman Road for two seasons before signing for Hull City on a free in 1999. He was released from Hull at the end of the 2000-01 season.

Chorley are also interested in re-signing midfielder Danny Mills from Ossett.

Ossett are holding out for a fee but Molyneaux said he was not prepared to pay one.
