BON Jovi are coming to the North-west next summer for one of the biggest one-night concerts the region has ever seen.

The rockers will play Manchester United's Old Trafford football ground on Thursday, June 26 -- tickets go on sale this Saturday.

But fans will have to be quick to get tickets -- thousands are expected to call the telephone hotline to see the band in front of a 68,000 capacity crowd. The last time that a one-night gig of this size came to Manchester was in 1996, when Simply Red played to the Old Trafford crowd during the Euro 96 football competition.

Last year, Bon Jovi turned down the chance to play at Bolton's Reebok Stadium and instead went to Huddersfield, the megastars' only appearance in the north of England.

The Bon Jovi Bounce World Tour kicks off in Japan on January 6 and will play America from February to April, before arriving in Europe in May.

Other British Bon Jovi concerts next year will take place at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow; Wolverhampton's Molineux Stadium and an unconfirmed venue in London.

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi said: "Bon Jovi is a live band. Come see us perform live and you're guaranteed a great show.

"It's what we love. We have incredible fans all over the world and some of the most loyal are in the UK. We can't wait to take the stage for them again."

Latest album Bounce has won critical acclaim and the super group, headed by heart-throb front man Jon Bon Jovi, have won many plaudits for 20 years at the top of the rock world.
