IMPERIAL War Museum North staff want to hear from anyone whose life, or whose relatives' lives, whether civilian or soldier, have been transformed by wartime entertainment.

The stories will feature in the Museum's first major exhibition In The Mood which opens next spring.

Perhaps you fell in love and married to the music of Glenn Miller or Anne Shelton? Or were you conceived the night of a wartime dinner dance? Were you inspired by wartime entertainers to become a performer yourself?

These are the questions being posed by the museum.

Anyone with a story to tell should contact Rachel Knight at the exhibitions department, Imperial War Museum, Trafford Wharf Road, Trafford Park, Manchester M17 1TZ, or telephone 0161 836 4025 by November 15.

The exhibition will also feature film and sound recordings from some of the great artists of the Twentieth Century, and examine the contributions, both here and abroad, of performers ranging from Vera Lynn and Zara Leander, Charlie Chaplin and Noel Coward, Jack Hylton and Billy Cotton, Ivor Novello and Tommy Trinder, Jim Davidson and Geri Halliwell.
