MS Dynamite, Coldplay and Will Young will be heading to Manchester next month to battle it out in the Top of the Pops awards.

The stars head the shortlist for the awards, which will be hosted by Ronan Keating at the MEN Arena on November 29.

They are each up for three awards at the event, which is now in its second year.

Kylie Minogue, Craig Daivd, Blue and Moby will all be performing on the night.

Each of the categories are voted for by fans either by phone, text message, interactive TV or via the internet.

Top newcomer - Ms Dynamite, Gareth Gates, The Streets, Holly Valance, Will Young.

Top R&B -- Ashanti, Mary J Blige, Ms Dynamite, Nelly, Ja Rule.

Top Rock -- Coldplay, Nickelback, Oasis, Puddle Of Mudd, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Top Dance -- Basement Jaxx, Ian Van Dahl, JXL, Moby, Scooter.

Top Pop -- Atomic Kitten, Blue, Gareth Gates, Sugababes, Will Young.

Top Tour -- Coldplay, Enrique Iglesias, Kylie, Oasis, Slipknot.

Top Single -- Enrique Iglesias, Hero; Liberty X, Just A Little; Nickelback, How You Remind Me; Shakira, Whenever Wherever; Will Young, Evergreen.

Top Album -- Coldplay, A Rush Of Blood To The Head; Doves, The Last Broadcast; Ms Dynamite, A Little Deeper; Eminem, The Eminem Show; Pink, Missundaztood.

Gareth Gates tied with Oasis, Nickelback and Enrique Iglesias while Ms Dynamite, who landed the Mercury Music Prize for debut album A Little Deeper and three Mobo Awards recently, is up for top album, R&B act and newcomer.

Young is another in the running for best newcomer as well as top pop act and best single for his chart-topper Evergreen. Coldplay's A Rush Of Blood To The Head is up for best album and the band are also in the running for top rock act and tour.
