WALSHAW continued their domination of the Bolton Association with a comfortable 95-run victory at struggling Daisy Hill.

Rob Faulkener led the way once more with a powerful 76, while Liam Riley, 62, and Jonathan Fielding, 44, played major supporting roles as the visitors chalked up a mighty total of 237-5.

Only Steve Hodgkinson, with 3-50, gave them any difficulties before the Daisy Hill batsmen were picked off easily for 142 runs, with Brett Collins taking 4-38. Howard Brooks, 39, and Mark Wood, 33, were Hill's best.

Clifton lost further ground on the leaders by going down to a four-wicket home defeat against Atherton. Mihar Diwakar did the damage for Atherton, taking 5-41 as Ian Morris, 42, led the home side to 146-9.

Phillip Wakefield then batted through Atherton's reply, scoring 45 not out alongside Paul Walsh, 36, to clinch the victory.

Lostock scraped home to a 23-run victory in one of the lowest-scoring games of the season. Phil Knowles' 29 was the only noteworthy innings as Lostock struggled to 84-7 under pressure from Golborne's Dave Roberts, who took 4-30.

In reply, Golborne were out for 61 in 26 overs, Marcus Taylor taking 4-12 after being promoted from the second team.

Blackrod destroyed 10-man Adlington with a 141-run triumph. Gary Speake's 47 set up a strong target of 193-7, Mark Halliwell taking 3-71, and the visitors were skittled out for 51 as David Morris took 6-21. Only Mike Rawlings made any serious contribution for Adlington with 31.

Elsewhere, Spring View crashed to a 25-run home defeat to Astley and Tyldesley.A&T hit 121 before finishing off the home side for only 96 runs. Bazid Khan was the pick of the bowlers, taking 7-55.

Standish made light work of Darcy Lever, with John Waddington's 50 steering them past the target of 129-8 with eight wickets in hand.
