Walkden reached the final of the Thwaites Lancashire Knockout at Old Trafford and are hoping Kearsley do the same.
The Springfield Road side play their semi-final against Ormskirk on Friday afternoon and a win would see two Bolton teams competing against each other in the final for the first time.
Walkden's success in their tie against Bootle means the league programme scheduled for Sunday, August 25, the day of the final, will now be switched to Sunday, September 8.
Walkden were thankful to their bowlers for their win, rain washing out the game but David and John Smith, Phil Ingram and Matt Parkinson were all on target winning a bowl-off 4-1.
