WOMEN across the town are ready to celebrate this years Bolton's International Women's Week, which runs until next Saturday.

Today the Victoria Hall was transformed into a health and well being workshop.

If you have always wondered how to spice up your own culinary efforts, Deane and Derby Learning Centre, on Board Street, will be holding an Asian cookery demonstration on Monday, between 1and 3pm.

Monday also sees the Women's Aid Support Centre, Bradford Street, run an open day, including taster sessions in IT and personal development.

Information about homelessness and working with homeless people will be presented by at the Friends Meeting House, on Silverwell Street, on Tuesday, from 10am to 12pm. Ring 01204 334066 to book a place.

Parents dealing with bullying can find out about coping strategies and how to approach schools at the Bully Free Zone. This event will also be held at the Friends Meeting House, Silverwell Street, between 2pm and 4pm on Wednesday.

For those feeling the stress and strains of life, the Asian Elders Initiative has organised a pampering session for women over 50. This event, at Slaterfield Community Centre, Carrington Drive, will offer massage, aromatherapy and manicures for people to try. The session will run from 11am to 3pm.

If you fancy an dance, sample an evening of Irish Ceili, at Astley Bridge Cricket Club, Moss Bank Way, on Thursday from 7.30pm.

Bolton Socialist Club will put on an evening lecture about Bolton's very own suffragette Hannah Mitchell. The night begins at 8pm on Friday at the Socialist Club, 16 Wood Street.

And in remembrance of the suffragettes, there will be a walk around Rivington on Saturday, March 16. The walk, organised by the Soroptimist Society, will begin at 11am, and the group will meet at the Black Bull car park, Belmont.

The finale of the week will be held at Emmanuell Hall and Deane and Derby Local Learning Centre, Board Street on Saturday, March 16.

The event will include workshops in dance, basic IT and cookery as well as fun activities for all the family. The day starts at 11am till 4pm.

Leisure centres are also offering sessions free of charge on the production of a Women's Week leaflet. These are available at the events, the Tourist Information Centre and Bolton's leisure centres.
