RADCLIFFE AC staged their annual club presentation last week, with outgoing chairman Tom West presenting Mike Howard with the prestigious President's Shield.

The athlete, running better than ever, also took the cross country prize as well as best fell runner. Adrian Harris took three gongs with the Norman Schofield Trophy, and the O/45s road and cross country.

Linda McDonagh was successful in the Ladies O/40s section and road championships.

New arrival Barbara Allen was best senior lady over the four cross-country races, whilst Eileen Sharman and Eileen Royle won

their respective age groups in the cross country.

David Bartlett was best senior man on the roads with Gareth Wilson taking the country. Among the O/40s, Mark Emmett took the road title, whilst Alec Steele took the O/50s road and fell titles.

Alan Sumner was O/55 winner on the roads and Tom West got enough cross country races in to win the O/60s section.

Arthur Warren managed some decent training between his coaching duties, (he trains the club's juniors) to go well for second place on the fells and first in the cross country, and it was in the latter that Bill Armstrong got running again after a year of niggling injuries to take second.
