BOLTON no longer has patients waiting for hospital treatment longer than 15 months, according to new Government figures.
Figures show that the Royal Bolton Hospital has reached its target.
The Government said that the town is among three quarters of NHS Trusts across the country which have reached the target.
The target was set last year by the Secretary of State for Health Alan Milburn, and Bolton hospital bosses had worried that it would find it hard to cut the waiting list.
The total number of patients waiting for treatment in Bolton today stands at 5,115 -- a 0.3 per cent drop on last month.
The number of people waiting for tonsil or adenoid operations has fallen in the North-west from 6,300 to 5,900, according to the Government.
