BRANDY has surprised the pop world, revealing that she has been married since last year.
The American R&B star wed music producer Robert Smith in a secret ceremony in the summer.
The multi-talented former child star, who starred in US sitcom Moesha for five series before it was cancelled last year, had her biggest hit in 1998 with her duet with Monica, The Boy Is Mine. Now after a four-year break from music she's back with a new single What About Us.
The singer, who was 23 on February 11, says of her husband: "I've fallen in love with a very warm, gentle, understanding and focused person.
"This summer we married quietly.
"It was a new experience, a new day for me."
She added: "I couldn't be happier."
