HAVING read the letter in the BEN, February 5, from Mrs K M Kay, RSPCA, I wonder if, as well as writing to Tony Blair, we could get Prince Charles to champion our campaign.

After all it was in the Queen's speech that the vote was to be a free one, and that this unnecessary activity should be banned as quickly as possible. If he did, I would imagine if Diana is looking down now she would be delighted, she hated blood sport and would love to see her sons abstain from it to.

The so-called fox hunters say that if fox hunting is stopped the dogs would have to be destroyed, as there would be no use for them. That is utter rubbish. The hounds, horses and riders could still enjoy sports such as hound trails, which they have in Cumbria. A trail is laid and the hunt begins. Everyone enjoys this sport and no animal is hurt in the process.

So come on Charles, if you want the love and loyalty of the people start campaigning now. Show some of the love, compassion, and humanity that Diana showed. She hated barbaric activities. It could be a tribute to he memory to see it ended now.

Also ban all the other blood sports, we should never allow barbaric antiquated medieval so-called traditions to ever be tolerated again.
