Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce is targeting a five-match unbeaten run beginning with West Ham.

The Reebok men need to stop the rot after going 11 matches without a victory and they see a five-game run against sides who are not out of trouble themselves as a potential platform for survival.

After the home clash with West Ham, Wanderers face Southampton, Blackburn, Sunderland and Derby.

Complacency is the last thing likely to creep into Wanderers' minds after a horrendous run of results but Allardyce admitted: "Some games are more winnable than others.

"After 11 games since a win I don't think we would be expected to win any game.

"But I would say this one is a winnable game and we have some others coming up which are more winngbale than others.

"We have to try and go five games undefeated with a couple of wins in there - anything better than that would be magnificent."

Wanderers hope that West Ham's stamina-sapping and ultimately demoralising FA Cup defeat at the hands of Chelsea on Wednesday night could act in their favour.

Allardyce added: "Hopefully we can capitalise on them having had a rather difficult tie on Wednesday night which may leave them a bit weary.

"But it is very important that we go all out to try and win the game and remove the pressure on us which is becoming greater and greater. We can only divert that pressure by getting three points and hopefully that will start tomorrow."
