KEVIN Nolan insisted today that Wanderers must maintain the standards they have set themselves with their formidable away record.

The teenage hero of Saturday's incredible derby triumph at Old Trafford, says they have developed a recipe for success that could bring a feast of points.

"We must build on this," the powerful 19 years old said after raising his own confidence levels to new heights with the stunning equaliser that fired Wanderers' sensational fightback after £28 million man Juan Veron had put the Champions in front.

"We must go to Villa on Saturday and believe we can win. We had a plan (at United), when we thought we could snatch a goal on the break and we did even better than that. Why can't we do that at Villa?

"We've hit our target now of 15 points in the first 10 games and we've got to keep going. We're a bit disappointed we haven't got a few more points but we've got a great result which we've got to build on now."

Nolan, the Liverpool lad who said pre-season that the trip to Old Trafford was the game he was most looking forward to, was ecstatic after his right foot volley speared into the top corner at the Stretford End, giving beleaguered United keeper Fabien Barthez no chance.

"Ricks (Michael Ricketts) nodded it down and I just hit it ... to see it fly in the back of the net was unreal," he said, "I still can't believe it.

"Everyone on Friday was saying 'Good luck' but I kept saying 'Don't worry, I'm going to enjoy. No matter what happens, I'm going to try my hardest.' And I enjoyed every minute of it. Scoring a goal there ... I couldn't believe what happened. I can't have dreamed it better."

The youngster who has shown remarkable maturity since he emerged from the academy ranks refused to let Veron's 25th minute free kick dent his determination to make his first game at Old Trafford a memorable one.

"I was standing in the centre circle with Wary (Paul Warhurst) and Per (Frandsen) and we just said we've got to make sure we didn't concede before half time. That was the main factor - not conceding, making sure we were solid with our shape after it (the goal) because I don't think we'd been as solid as we could have been. But we defended very well and the big man (Ricketts) came up trumps again to score a great goal.

"We always know Ricks, if he gets a chance we know he'll score but his finish was unbelievable. The pressure ... a crowd of 67,000 and going through one-on-one with Barthez, he's put it away and deserves everything he's getting at the moment."
