AN ecstatic Bolton Wanderers supporter photographed in the BEN on her mobile phone during last weekend's Old Trafford clash was ringing a Manchester United fan -- to gloat.

Geography teacher Jenny Norton, aged 23, could not wait to rub it in when the mighty Wanderers triumphed over Manchester United, especially as her friend, Peter Ahern, warned her Bolton would get "thrashed".

Jenny, a teacher at Middleton Technology School in Rochdale, who completed her teacher training alongside Peter, called him from her mobile to brag -- proving to Peter it is not always good to talk.

The devoted fan, who sells golden gamble tickets at the match every week, said "it was the best feeling ever" when Bolton won.

She said: "I just had to phone Peter. He couldn't hear a word I was saying so I held the phone up into the air, so he could hear the roar of the crowd."

Jenny, of Whittle Grove, Bolton, a Wanderers fan for 11 years, sent a text message to Peter saying: "Fantastic, unbelievable, ecstatic." She added that his reply proved that he is a real sport.

She said: "Manchester United fans are usually bad losers, but Peter sent me a text message back saying it had been a good match and Bolton deserved to win."

Jenny, her parents Pat and Tim and her four cousins Lynn, Stephen, Victoria and Michael Gradwell, all watched the game at Old Trafford. After the match they went out in Manchester to enjoy a night of celebrating.

Jenny said: "It was fantastic. In school a lot of the pupils are Manchester United fans. The first thing I did was write 2 - 1 on the blackboard in huge letters."
