A TEMPORARY office worker from Little Hulton is one in a million.
Vivienne Cunningham has won the local heat of the "One in a Million" competition organised by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation to acknowledge the massive contribution to industry made by the one million plus temporary workers in the UK.
When Vivienne was made redundant in September 1999 at the age of 55 she felt that the odds were stacked against her -- 29 years with one company, her limited experience of other businesses and relative lack of computer skills would prevent her from finding another position.
However, just 24 hours after signing up with the Linda Taylor Associates recruitment agency in Swinton, Vivienne was found a temporary assignment with Greater Manchester Fire Service and it is still going strong today.
Vivienne received an almost 'Perfect 10' on the scoring system adapted by the Employment Confederation -- nine 'excellents' and one 'very satisfactory'.
