THE majority of people in this country want a peaceful solution to the Afghanistan crisis.

There is also support from most Muslim countries saying the people responsible for the attacks on New York must be, at least, put on trial.

With this platform of peace and co-operation from many countries, why can't George Bush and Tony Blair work on this to promote peaceful relations all around the globe? They now have the chance to put their efforts and monies into helping others, instead of allowing the killing of innocent people, be they our young soldiers or impoverished children of other lands.

Bush and Blair must not ignore what the people of the world want. If they go ahead with war-like solutions, this and future generations will look upon them as the two who ruined a chance to bring about world peace. We know their reasons for wanting to go ahead with war, but the reasoning is of a very immature and selfish mind that shows no high level of consciousness and indeed having not the conscience to stop.

I suggest that everyone who wants peace, at least living in this country, should do something to show this. It is quite urgent we do this something quick.

We British -- Muslim, Christian or any -- could all come out of our houses/front doors on to the streets at a given time and day -- at least we can show we want a turnaround in the world's attitudes. Do it for five minutes. Do it first in this country, and then do it in every country in the world at the same time. And always keep your thoughts, prayers, meditations going all through this. Every individual, do your best for peace.

The Kingdom of God is within, within every human being is pure goodness. No excuses -- let us get down to it!
