BOLTON'S would-be entrepreneurs are failing to turn their dreams of a small business into reality, according to a poll.

NOP research said people had an overriding fear of financial failure and insecurity.

One-in-six have seriously considered setting up their own firm in the last two years but only two per cent of the population have actually become employed or founded a business in the past year.

The research, called Fear of Flying, was commisioned by Abbey National.
