THE jury in a case where a man was left unconscious in the street is expected to retire to consider its verdict today.

Neil Yates was allegedly attacked and beaten by his former wife's new partner and his two daughters' boyfriends.

The defendants claim there was a disagreement at Hindley Conservative Club between them and Yates, but it was a fourth man who punched and kicked Yates.

Neil Toole, aged 40, of Laurel Crescent, Hindley Green; Johnathon Gore, aged 20, of Lord Street, Hindley, and Darrell Cocklin, aged 17, of Crossdale Road, Hindley Green, appeared at Bolton Crown Court charged with unlawfully wounding Yates on December 19,1999. All three deny the charge.
