A MAN was arrested today on suspicion of murder by detectives investigating the fatal blaze at Bolton's Moat House Hotel.
The 21-year-old man was arrested in the Farnworth area at about 6.30am and was due to be questioned later about the arson attack.
Detectives have refused to confirm whether the suspect was a hotel guest at the time of the blaze or an employee of the hotel, either past or present.
The dramatic arrest comes eight weeks after fire swept through a third floor corridor of the Higher Bridge Street building, claiming the lives of two pensioners from Blackpool who were guests at the four star hotel.
Today Det Chief Insp Paul Buchanan said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and will be interviewed by detectives later today."
