A MAN accused of sending obscene cassette tape recordings through the post has been committed for trial to the Crown Court.
Gerald Banyard, aged 47, of Highfield Road, Edenfield, faces two charges following incidents alleged to have happened within days of each other at Prestwich in February.
Banyard, who was appearing before Bury magistrates, also faces a further charge of harassing Penny Wiseman between October 1999 and February 2001. The charge includes sending the obscene tapes, as well as bizarre and threatening letters.
He will appear at Bolton Crown Court on June 18 for a plea and directions hearing.
