BOLTON Under 15s go into the Northern Merit play offs with just one defeat from their last six games.

The town team finished on top of the Northern Merit League after winning three, drawing three and losing two of their eight games played.

And that record was enough to put them in pole position guaranteeing them a play off spot along with Leeds, Warrington and Wakefield.

Bolton completed their Northern Merit League programme with a 2-2 draw against Warrington thanks to goals from Sam Garner and Luke Killeen and Garner took his goal tally to five in the last six games when he hit the target to give Bolton a 1-1 draw against Manchester in the Greater Manchester Schools' League.

Bolton were due to meet Wigan in another League match this morning and team boss Ivor Altdorf was hoping for another top class performance ahead of the play offs which look set to be scheduled next week.

But that could give Altdorf a problem as several youngsters could be involved in a couple of local Cup Finals.

The Bolton Schools Under 16s Final between Rivington and Blackrod School and St. James School is scheduled for the Reebok Stadium on Thursday, May 17 (1pm).

And the Under 15s Final between Turton and Little Lever will be played at the Reebok Stadium on Friday, May 18, kick off 6pm.
