A LOCAL firm has played a key role in the construction of the new £23 million Manchester International Convention Centre.
Senior Hargreaves, a heating and ventilation systems supplier based in Bury, has completed a £500,000 project to provide ductwork for internal climate control and emergency systems for smoke removal.
The MICC has an 800-seat auditorium and a 1,900 square metre multi-purpose hall.
The multipurpose hall can accommodate banquets for up to 1,000 guests.
It will be the venue for weight-lifting in the 2002 Commonwealth Games and is attracting national and international attention in other areas.
