ASTLEY and Tyldesley cycle speedway team lost to Sheffield Stars in the first round of the British Team Championships. Skipper Damien Hack was in great form, losing only once to former Great Britain captain Martin Gamble in his last race, after heading him home in an earlier race. Russ Holland also impressed with two race wins and Mike Hack was A & T's only other race winner. In a bad week the team then crashed out of the Northern Junior KO Cup in the first round at Tameside with Damien Hack racing to a superb 20 points maximum score.
