I WAS absolutely disgusted to receive my parking ticket on April 18.

I parked opposite the Town Hall West on Le Mans Crescent.

Apparently the reason was (23G wrong class of vehicle). The sign I parked next to informed me of the pay and display machine. I duly followed the instructions and ticketed my car.

I did notice some white writing next to the bay in which I parked. However, it looked old and was partly erased and it seemed to say 'm/cs sold' and I had no idea what it meant. I presumed it to be of no importance as the bay was car sized, had the sign next to the bay and a car was just leaving the bay as I arrived.

When I returned to my car I was horrified by the ticket. It took me a few minutes to understand why when I believed I had done everything correctly. I now presume the 'car sized' bay to be for the use of motorcycles. As I left the parking bay another car entered it behind me. However, I did inform the other vehicle that I had just got a ticket.

Obviously three cars had used or wanted to use this bay in the half hour I had parked there. Obviously the bay is not clearly labelled as being for the use of motorcycles. I really hope that Bolton Metro are not using the ambiguities of this bay to raise revenue. If I had more time I would stand at this bay and see how many cars use it and how many tickets are issued on this bay.
