SONGWRITER Carol Douglas is set to become a linedancing queen.

The 51-year-old is due to be featured in the magazine Linedancer next month after the editor, Tim Matthews, said he was impressed with her collection of songs.

And top new British country acts Nadine Somers and Sean Kelly are also looking at two songs for a forthcoming album.

Carol, of Tonge Moor, runs a Song Bank, selling songs via the Internet. She has received backing from the Bolton Enterprise Centre and is now putting together a promotional CD of eight linedance tracks called "Bolton Song Bank -- First Steps."

More than 15 of her songs are also being used by cabaret artists and young singers and a film producer at the History Channel is considering using one of her tunes for a proposed war film.

She told the BEN: "My ambition is to carry on writing, improving as I go until one or more of my songs are strong enough to do really well."

Her website can be accessed at www.boltonsongbank.co.uk and Carol can be contacted on 01204 383051 or carol@boltonsongbank.co.uk
