A MAN has appeared in court charged with driving offences following a high speed motorcycle chase which resulted in a policeman being injured.
The police motorcyclist, who has not been named, was injured in a collision as the chase, which began in Bolton on Monday night and involved several officers, ended in Butts Street, Leigh.
Chief Inspector Ken Dickson, of Leigh, said the patrolman was able to return to work despite suffering knee, shoulder and groin injuries.
Kyle Lovell, 20, of Warrington Road, Leigh, appeared before Leigh magistrates yesterday charged with aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and without insurance. He was released on bail to appear before Wigan magistrates on May 23.
