RED Nose Day was jolly and TV coverage during the week and on the day was most entertaining.
I am sure that millions enjoyed the very praiseworthy efforts in raising money for the world's dying, starving and disadvantaged.
Mr and Mrs Beckham were extremely courageous in facing up to the assault by Ali G -- not a situation that most of us would relish.
However, I would imagine that with their vast earnings, the Beckhams and, say Elton John and Paul McCartney, could jointly have saved all the effort (or put it to another worthy cause), by contributing £10 million each to the fund without feeling the draught!

It is something they and other extremely rich persons should be doing on a regular basis.
In the absence of rich persons' willingness to voluntarily comply, and now that the minimum pay scheme is up and running, should not our politicians be considering a MAXIMUM pay and earnings scheme?
An annual figure of £100,000 net per annum comes to mind -- a very comfortable living and lifestyle can be enjoyed on this figure, as I am sure the vast majority of your readers will agree.
Is there a dynamic MP out there who would be willing to champion this issue, and persuade his or her party to include this in their forthcoming election manifesto?
