THE game of the day in the Horwich and District Sunday League took place at Daisy Hill where Premier Division White Horse entertained local rivals Wingates in what proved to be an eight goal all action thrilling local derby.
White Horse's first victory came thanks to a fine individual performance by Mulqueeny who scored four of his team's goals while chipping in with his third of the season was Chris Green.
Wingates rallies late on but it was all in vain when Martin Jordan struck home two goals. Craig Chadwick scored but the game was by then dead and buried.
The victory gave White Horse four points from three games and moved them up a few places in the table. Back at the top of the table Ladybridge gained all three points from their home victory against Horwich Victoria by 3-0. Goals came from Reynolds with a brace and Hinks.
Second place A&A Pineapple who also gained a valuable win from their home victory against championship contenders FC Gap. Glancy and Perkin scored the vital goals.
Bridge stormed to an awesome away win at Sams. Scoring two goals each in the goalfeast were Turnbull, Walker and Boal with Harrison adding the other. Matt Wolfended grabbed both goals for Sams.
In the Divison One action to take place Smithills took pole position off Walkden when they overturned a Breightmet 7-1.
Their hero was Tony McCormick who grabbed four goals to add to his tally for the season. Also striking the back of the net were Momed with two and Riley.
Walkden succumbed to their first defeat of the season when Fox & Stork impressed all with a 3-0 victory.
Luckless Long Pull eventually gained their first win of the season at home to Barnstormers 4-2 with top marksman Williams netting his fifth and sixth goals of the season.
The only other game to be played in the division saw Spinning Mule move up into fourth place with a fine 4-2 victory away at Crofters Arms.
