Bolton Mets 18 Crosfields 4 AFTER last week's dismal display coach Rick Brookes pre-match pep-talk certainly did the trick as Bolton Mets ARLFC entertained Crosfields of Warrington at New house Farm.

In a scintillating opening quarter Mets produced some of their best attacking rugby of the season to leave high-flying Crosfields shell shocked.

The Kinkead brothers, centre Dave and second row Rob, served up a birthday treat for their dad watching on the sidelines.

Early pressure and some fine kicking from full back Dorning led to the opening try for Dave Kinkead. Within five minutes brother Rob dived over for another touchdown. With stand off Charky marshalling the attack Dave Kinkead clinched a hat-trick of tries to leave a jubilant Mets 18-0 up after only 20 minutes.

Crosfields rallied late into the first half and their scrum half left the Mets defence floundering to score a fine individual try.

The second half opened with Crosfields taking the initiative but the Mets defence held firm and with second-row Mick Booth producing tireless drives Crosfields were subdued and the Mets ended the game camped on their opponents' line but unable to add to their first half tally.

Bolton's next game is at home against Pilkingtons A. Meet new house farm 1pm Saturday.
