BOLTON hairdressers have been invited to take part in international hairdressing championships in our French twin town of Le Mans.
The championships, which will take place in the town's Congress Hall are being held by the Sarthe Hairdressing Federation and will feature scissor happy competitors from all over the world.
The Mayor of Le Mans, Mr Robert Jarry, wrote to The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr. Alan Wilkinson asking him to invite trainee hairdressers to take part.
He invited local company Training For Today to enter their talented trainees and the company are now searching for sponsors.
Nissa Smyth, a Company Director for the firm on Lever Street, who have 100 trainees in salons throughout Bolton said: "The competition will be for the best blow wave and the best cut and blow. We have written to the employees of trainees and eight have said they are willing for them to enter. We can only take four trainees to France so we have made up a short list and need to whittle it down.
"We also need to raise money to cover the costs of the travelling, so we have written to various local companies, including our own product supplier and other hair product manufacturers. It should be very exciting so if you would like to become a sponsor please get in touch."
The competition is taking place between May 6 and 7. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor phone 439900.
