AGE Concern in Bolton is urging older people to make their voices heard in the run up to the General Election. The charity is asking pensioners to write to all their local prospective parliamentary candidates and ask them their views on Age Concern's five manifesto priorities, which are:

End pensioner poverty.

End age discrimination at work.

End discrimination in the health service.

End charges for personal care.

Ensure cheap, accessible public transport. Gareth Evans, Chief Officer of Age Concern, Bolton said: "Recent research shows that older people are more likely to vote than any other group and that half of all older people are still undecided how to vote. The message to candidates is that you ignore older voters at your peril and the message to older people is that the candidates can't afford to ignore you. So now's the time to tell them what you think and ask them what they will do for older people if they are elected."
